Refuge personnel are in the process of completing a dike removal project to the west of Big Pond in the area known as Brindley Pond. This dike was originally to help keep over bank flood waters from putting too much pressure on the road/dike that designates the south end of Brindley Pond. The water pressure has not been enough to jeopardize the road in recent history. We felt that removal of this dike could allow any water that over flows the banks of Camas Creek to spread evenly over the landscape in a more natural pattern.
